Biography

Betsy has pioneered many projects to see children, young people and their families find restoration in the face of their difficulties, find support in the isolation of their struggles, and find care and love in the harshness of life. She passionately believes that we should be working in a trauma recovery focused approach rather than a 'behaviour management' or medical model approach.

Betsy is a psychotherapist and a qualified primary school teacher who has founded several organisations that work directly with troubled families. She is a trauma specialist who is highly sought after to train and consult for professionals all over the globe.

BdT Ltd Trauma Training and Consultancy, (www.betsytraininguk.co.uk) supports and trains professionals and families who live and work with traumatised children across the world. This organization has also pioneered a popular Therapeutic Mentoring Certificate which explores trauma recovery principles and practice over 6 months, now online. The certificate also leads to Therapeutic Mentoring Rooms in schools which enable traumatised children to find safety within the mainstream school setting, with the support of therapeutic mentors working alongside trauma trained psychotherapists.

Betsy is a consultant for organisations across the world who need help with traumatised children and young people and loves to work in Africa where she was born.
